Is Proper Journalism Doomed…?

HARD on the heels of the NOTW phone tapping scandal ~ known on Twitter as #hackgate, there comes the tale of a left wing media “icon” who now admits to the worst of all writing sins ~ plagiarism…
Unbelievably Johann Hari (award winning) journalist of the Independent newspaper, hasn’t been sacked…
Rather his editor has agreed to let him travel to America to take a course in journalism, with a particular emphasis on ethics. Something the majority of people who read the red tops doesn’t believe exists in so called Fleet Street…
His grovelling, simpering and angst filled unapologetic er apology [sic] begs forgiveness from his readers and hopes they’ll learn to trust him again. He even has the gall to claim he is “grateful” his “flaws” have been dragged into the light…
The tale gets even more murky when you hear he doctored Wikipedia to both smear his detractors and “up” himself as this shining light of the left and worthy holder of the golden typewriter of truth. Jesus H Christ, he doesn’t just need the sack he needs a head quack…
Is there a chance of forgiveness..? Maybe, after all I’m pretty sure 80% of thinking folk take all they read in the tabloids as BS these days. But this is a so called high brow broadsheet high on morals and values. OK the regular readers of the Independent are, one would suppose, lentil eating cuddle therapy types who on his return will ruffle his hair and feed him peeled grapes and tofu. But what about his colleagues and journalists at large..? How do they feel..?

Sack Him

If I was in his newsroom I’d want him out and I’d want my editor to tell the whole bloody world he was an up him self idiot who believed his own hype and ego. Jesus I got the sack from my newspaper for investigating a miscarriage of justice!!! Pure facts ~ hard work ~ and dedication bordering on obsession, but I digress (me bitter naw lol)…
I guess it’s just another nail in the coffin of real journalists reporting the facts and finding their valuable work hampered by the sway of public opinion and the raft of new legislation that will undoubtedly gag our press.
As it stands now 99.9999% of newspapers are owned ~ nay controlled ~ by large corporations with both hands on the editorial freedoms lest it impinge on their globalist strategies…
So every little drip drip drip of scandal wafting from the dailies can do nothing but harm, until no one is left watching the watchers and telling the public exactly how it is. They need to come clean ~ smoke out the crap, the liars, the cheats and be as transparent as they say everyone else should be…
And they should do it now before it’s too late…
